Do not spend most of your time in London. If there is time to go to Northern Ireland visit the north or the west for the best scenery (unless Brexit has happened then it might not be safe any more).

Go to some of the national parks such as the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District. If you like the coast try Northumberland for peace and quiet. In Scotland head for the hills and lochs. In Wales visit Snowdonia.

There isn’t time to do everything, but you need to experience UK foods. The two compulsory dishes are the Sunday Roast - the best is beef; and fish, chips and mushy peas with salt and vinegar - best from a chip shop rather than a pub and usually better in the north than the south of the country.
